Sustain' Magazine Award - Nov 09

Structherm has been shortlisted in the Sustain Magazine Awards 2010 for its part in the regeneration of the Daneville Estate in Liverpool.

The company has reached the finals for its work with Liverpool Mutual Homes in the extensive refurbishment of the 600 properties on the estate – 63 of which were void at the start of the project, with a total void period in excess of 1000 years.

The properties on the Daneville Estate were constructed in a ‘non-traditional’ manner and were in varying states of disrepair. Structherm’s structural cladding system not only addressed the structural problems that the properties were experiencing, but also improved their appearance and thermal efficiency which, in turn, has improved the physical appearance of the estate, reduced fuel poverty amongst tenants and made the estate a desirable place to live.

Structherm is nominated in the ‘Award for Refurbishment’ category for the project, which was carried out using its structural cladding system. The winner will be revealed at the Official Awards Ceremony taking place in March on the first night of the design, construction and built environment event, Ecobuild.

Structherm has already achieved a number of award nominations during 2009 for its work in both the new build and refurbishment arenas.

These include reaching the finals of the 2009 Sustainable Housing Awards in the ‘Sustainable Social Housing Refurbishment Project of the Year’ category for its work on the Daneville Estate and being shortlisted in the ‘Best Offsite Health Project’ and ‘Best Use of Concrete’ in the Off Site Construction Awards 2009 for its new build project in Stratford upon Avon - Briar Croft Residential Care Home

In 2008, it also won the Off Site Construction Award for ‘Best Multi-occupancy Dwelling’ for its work at Park Central, a key project in the regeneration of Attwood Green in Birmingham.
