The single storey Airedale Centre for Mental Health includes:
- 60 individual bedroom areas
- Therapy rooms including a gym as well as art, relaxation and computer rooms
- Psychiatric intensive care unit
- A multi-faith room
- Visiting areas
- Three courtyards providing protected outdoor spaces
Design:
The design of the building incorporates features specific to mental health requirements, such as personal security, while protecting people’s privacy and dignity. With other operations being undertaken on the site, Structherm were able to use the existing tower crane therefore saving on costs for the client.
Partnership:
Due to the early and successful partnership between Structherm and Kier Northern, any potential problems were corrected at the design stage; allowing the build to run smoothly and be completed in just 32 days.
