Contract House Builders recently completed the construction of 24 apartments on Evesham Road in Cheltenham. The project was a continuation of a Grade II listed existing building and was constructed so as to be in keeping with the character and aesthetic design of the local area, which is in a central conservation area. Due to the location and compactness of the site, the contract required detailed preplanning so that deliveries could be organised in a timely and accurate manner.

 

The package provided by Structherm included Fastbuild Walls, floors, liftshaft and staircases. For the building to keep in character with the adjoining Georgian building it required high ceilings. Structherm produced concrete panel heights of 3.6m to allow for this. The building also incorporated penthouse apartments therefore Structherm produced unique profiled panels which met the rake formed by the mansard roof.

 

This development was the second time that the contractor used the Fastbuild system and has begun to enjoy the benefits of the rapid build speed by virtue of the fact that his newly built properties were on the market much earlier than anticipated.
