A striking crescent shaped development was constructed using Fastbuild incorporating 24, one and two bedroom apartments, each having a private balcony or patio area.

 

The developer was keen to complete the development as soon as possible in order to get a quick return on investment. Using this extremely robust Modern Method of Construction, the project has taken just 8 months from start on site to completion, instead of the average of 12 months. Fastbuild reduces the overall construction programme by reaching the dryshell stage quickly allowing internal works to commence at an earlier point in the programme when compared to traditional brick & block.

 

Due to the site being fairly tight, car parking facilities have been incorporated on the ground floor.

Progressive collapse details have been incorporated where the building is 5 storeys and a 200mm Fastbuild solid concrete panel has been used for party walls.

 

Acoustic tests have been carried out on the completed building, showing that the Fastbuild walls exceed Building Regulations, on average achieving a rating of 54dB.

 

The apartments have been finished using Structherm’s non-structural external wall insulation system with a white marble aggregate wall coating from the Italian range.
