Clarkston
Project Details:
Built in the 1950’s, these houses suffered from poor acoustic qualities and low levels of thermal insulation, with the existing U-value only 1.3W/m2K. There was also the requirement to improve the external appearance of the properties.
Solution:
The Structherm structural cladding system was chosen by North Lanarkshire Council because it provided a truly structural solution which stabilises the structure.
The finish was an important factor in transforming the appearance of the houses. This was achieved using a rough cast finish with a decorative Structherm brick effect render soldier course under the windows and around the middle of the properties.
Results:
The refurbishment scheme successfully transformed the properties and improved the living environment for the tenants. The U-value has improved to 0.27W/m2K, in order to comply with Scottish Building Regulations.
