The Chantry School
Background:
The ICT & Drama block at The Chantry School in Worcestershire was built in the early 1970’s for the raising of the school leaving age, hence ROSLA.
This teaching block had deteriorated into a very poor state, with the external timber curtain walling in extremely poor condition and the windows of the block had been screwed up, restricting ventilation. This did not provide the kind of teaching environment expected in the 21st Century.
Solution:
Cost effectiveness was a deciding factor in selecting the structural insulated cladding system for the upgrading of the building, and the ability to reduce the window openings requested by the school for IT requirements.
