Train & Kemp Engineers /Arm ll
Requirement
:
Built in the early 1980’s, the client stipulated that the refurbishment of the building would be a cost effective long-term solution.
The office block experienced low thermal efficiency due to the lack of insulation. Therefore, it was necessary to refenestrate and change the whole style of the building to fit in in with the ARM II corporate image.
Solution
:
The Structherm structural cladding system was chosen as it fulfilled all the criteria laid down by the company guidelines.
- Structural cladding was used to avoid removing the original profile cladding
- Galvanised steel structural cladding panels with mineral fibres were used, achieving a U-Value of 0.29 w/m2K
- The building was finished in Taormina, one of Structherm’s Italian finishes, with an additional colour to create a chequered finish. By using dual colours, this allowed Structherm to create a look of horizontal and vertical panels
Results:
The building is now totally refurbished, occupied by a technology unit, which compliments the recently constructed headquarters in order to maintain the company’s corporate image.
