Whiston

Project Objectives:Before Refurbishment
Knowsley Housing Trust’s objectives in refurbishing these properties included:

  • Extend the useful life of the structure (30 years+)
  • Stabilise the external envelope
  • Provide a robust cladding solution
  • Reduce fabric heat losses and CO2 emissions
  • Eliminate condensation & penetrating damp
  • Improve aesthetics
  • Provide a mortgagable design
  • Achieve a short contract period

Solution:
Arcus Partnership carried out full condition surveys on the properties and concluded that structural cladding was best suited. The structural cladding has satisfied all the above requirements set the by the Housing Trust and has provided a mortgagable solution, with no need to decant the tenants.

Externally, both types of properties have been finished with Macerend Brick Effect Render to the ground floor and an Italian marble aggregate to the first floor.

Results:After Refurbishment
All parties are very pleased with the completed project and it has received an excellent Tenant Satisfaction rating.
