CERT & CESP

What are CERT & CESP?

Carbon Emissions Reduction Target (CERT) Funding:

CERT is the Government's principal driver of household energy efficiency and carbon reduction and is the main funding stream through which Housing Associations and Local Authorities can obtain funding to improve the energy efficiency of their properties.

Community Energy Saving Programme (CESP) Funding:

CESP is a further Government grant initiative aimed at those living in deprived areas with low levels of income (the lowest decile of the Index of Multiple Deprivation’s (IMD) income domain) and will promote a whole-house approach. Housing Associations and Local Authorities can obtain more funding and bonuses by delivering multiple energy saving measures to the same properties as well as serving multiple properties within the same targeted area. The list of eligible measures is restricted to those that deliver significant carbon dioxide and fuel bill savings and includes External Wall Insulation.

Find out if your housing stock falls into a CESP area and download the “Communities – Areas Of Low Income” spreadsheet at the bottom of the page.

Energy Saving Trust RecommendedStructherm External Wall Insulation & Insulated Render (Solid Wall Insulation):

Up until recently, loft and cavity wall insulation have dominated the energy efficiency drives of Local Authorities and Housing Associations, however External Wall Insulation systems are now considered to be the next main area of focus due to the unsurpassable energy saving benefits that they can offer.

Structherm External Wall Insulation is the ideal way to insulate a property constructed with a Solid Wall i.e. no cavity or non-traditional properties where cavity wall insulation is not advised. This could include non-traditional properties types such as:

  • Airey
  • No Fines
  • BISF
  • Orlit
  • Boswell
  • Reema
  • Cornish
  • Smith
  • Croswall
  • Swedish Timber
  • Cruden Rural
  • Taran
  • Dorlonco
  • Unity
  • Easiform
  • Wates
  • Hawksley

Our systems are recognised and recommended by the Energy Saving Trust under their energy savings endorsement scheme and are used extensively in the structural, thermal and aesthetic refurbishment of social housing stock.

Our systems are BBA approved and are designed to meet current regulations.

How Can Structherm Help?

Structherm can help you apply for CERT & CESP funding as we already have established relationships with the energy suppliers who are obligated to deliver carbon reduction targets. We would be pleased to investigate the opportunity to facilitate funding for any project you may have and provide U Value calculations to assist with the application.
