Structherm | External Wall Insulation
Structherm’s comprehensive range of non-structural EWI systems all come with a variety of CFC and HFC free insulants, providing a high degree of thermal efficiency, vapour permeability, impact resistance and flexibility of colour and texture.
System Options
There are 6 options – NSC1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, all based on the same sequence of layers of insulant, mesh, basecoat render and surface finish. The distinguishing aspect of each option is the particular combination of these layers and the retention method to be used.
Each option may also be further varied with a choice of 4 insulants – expanded polystyrene, extruded polystyrene, mineral fibre or phenolic.
Please consult Structherm for specification details.
Areas of Application
- Newbuild structures
- Refurbishment of local authority & private dwellings – high rise or low rise
- Public buildings including ground floor areas
- Traditional or period buildings retaining the original style and appearance
- Schools
- Commercial & office premises
Some of the major benefits include:-
- Significantly improved thermal performance
- Reduced fuel consumption and environmental pollution
- Impact resistance of 6N/m (except NSC1)
- Fire resistance – classified Class O as defined in Building Regulations
- Improved acoustic performance – transmission of external airbourne noise through the external wall is much reduced
- No risk of condensation as dew point occurs on the outside of the system
- Minimising disruption – no need to decant occupants as work access and installation are external
