Fastbuild – Modern Method of Construction

Structherm has experience both in working with local authorities and individual schools and main contractors within PFI to provide many new education buildings.

We have designed schools so that all requirements such as classrooms, all purpose halls, the nursery and community areas are amalgamated into a single structure. Structherm place a strong emphasis on planning and co-ordination to ensure the project is a success.

Working in partnership on the large PFI schemes has allowed changes to be made to improve deliverability and cost savings on future projects. Fastbuild brings major benefits to the construction of education buildings, including reducing the volume of transport and deliveries to site – a major factor when the school grounds are already occupied.

Adverse weather conditions do not affect the erection of Fastbuild, allowing programme predictability and ease of planning follow on trades.

Fastbuild dramatically reduces construction times by up to as much as 30-40% when compared to traditional construction – allowing buildings to be occupied quicker.

Waste on site is also reduced, improving health and safety by maintaining a clean and manageable site.

Acoustic and air tightness tests show the system exceeds current Building Regulations. Fastbuild also gives comprehensive fire protection.
