We have over 40 years’ experience in the industry and are now seeking to further promote our enviable reputation with the appointment of a Building Systems Technician to fully support our technical function.

This is an exciting opportunity to further develop your skills and expertise on Structural External Wall Insulation (SEWI), gaining specialist knowledge in the application of these systems for hard to treat and high rise properties.

Mission and role of the function

  • To use Structural Engineering knowledge and initiative to provide excellent technical backup to both the Technical Sales Managers and ultimately the client/customer.
  • To provide technical design support for Retrofit and External Wall Insulation (EWI) projects, integral to the Technical team in a multi task supporting role.

Key Accountabilities

  • Prepare structural calculations for the Structherm Cladding systems
  • Prepare U-Value Calculations
  • Prepare Project / Repair Specifications
  • Obtain Supplier Quotes
  • Prepare Pricelists
  • Preparation and issuing of CAD drawings
  • Processing / circulating site visit reports (Fieldmotion)
  • Provide information for O&M manuals
  • Produce pull out testing schedules
  • Assist with preparation of wind load/rain exposure calculations & fixing analysis
  • Prepare 3D visuals for clients
  • Preparation of CDM packages.
  • Site assessments and liaison with clients, consultants and contractors
  • Liaise with all other staff within the business

Job Requirements

  • Qualified to a minimum of Level 5 Diploma or Higher National Diploma (HND) Civil/Structural Engineering
  • Knowledge of using AutoCAD/Sketchup/Revit
  • To work as part of a team and under own initiative
  • IT Literate familiar with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook
  • To be organised and able to plan their work effectively.
  • Attentive and keen to learn.
