Operations Director, Mark Harrison, to Trek Nepal

Structherm’s Operations Director, Mark Harrison, is set to trek Nepal for Marie Curie early next year. The trek will last five days and take place in the foothills of the Himalayan Mountains, in the Helambu region of Nepal.

Starting in Kathmandu, the trail winds through some of the small villages nestled amongst the mountains. Most days begin with steep climbing routes through the landscape, before winding back down towards Kathmandu at the end of the 5 day trek.

Even though it isn’t Everest, the trek has ascents of up to 3000m and have a daily distance of 12-18km – quite the challenge! Mark has already started training, with a practice hike of Mount Snowdon in Wales.

This is my first charity raising challenge, although it’s been on my mind for a while now. When my friend Myra was suffering from terminal cancer we were unable to get any Hospice care due to a lack of available places. This has prompted me to try raise funds to help provide the care and support for those living with terminal illness.

We hope you join us in wishing him all the best for this challenge. If you want to donate, or just find out more about the trek, you can visit his JustGiving page.
